BMLT is a 3-year undergraduate course designed to equip eligible candidates with an advanced learning in both routine and sophisticated laboratory diagnostic procedures. Students enrolled to the course are taught to perform tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Eligibility
They must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board/institute. They must have studied PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) as core subjects during Class 11 and 12. They should have scored at least 50% marks in Class 12.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the BMLT course are qualified to work as Medical Laboratory Technologists or Clinical Laboratory Technologists. They can find employment in hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and public health organizations.
Government Sector
Public or private sector hospitals, various educational institutes, one can run his/her own laboratory consultancy services, health care centers, a career in product development, marketing, sales, quality assurance, environmental health, and insurance, blood banking, clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology.
